Advantages Of Having An USD Fork 

In Upside down, as the name suggests, the suspension is fitted in a completely opposite direction. This means the handle yoke is connected to the damping unit. The sliders are connected to the wheel of the bike. Now this setup is more sophisticated that a normal suspension. And it provides more strength to the whole frame of the motorcycle.

• By fixing the Slider which is comparatively heavier at the top to the body of the bike makes the Handling considerably better making the bike more balanced and planted.
• By putting the lighter weight component at the bottom it helps reducing the unsprung weight suspended to the bike.
• The heavier Slider with bigger diameter attached to the body adds strength to the over all front portion of the bike.
• And it looks way cooler.

Problems With Upside Down Suspension 

• Major issue with them is that the USD forks cost more than the conventional forks.
• Upside Down suspensions are way costlier to fix or replace if needed.
• Regular cleaning is not required but its good for the forks.
• A dirty fork might get leaks due to the dust buildup inside the suspension, which breaks the suspension seal and causes leaks. 

Due to the way they are designed and placed, leaky forks might cause less breaking when needed. Reason being it might spray for oil to the disc rotors and brake calipers there by reducing the friction.
