The most basic things that you need for wildlife photography are a good telephoto lens (Canon EF 600mm f/4), a good tripod with comparably less heavy and so on. But if you want to get a bit more fancier you can go with some cameo clothing and long range Flash Extender and some wireless shutters.
The most important thing that you require is patience
if you don’t have it you wont get good results. Try to find out a bit about your habitat and the animals there and research somethings about their feeding time and so on.

After you done this all you will be mostly prepared for what to come
Remember to keep two to three profiles in your camera to switch fast for over head shots and closer to ground shots. And you should also remember to put your focusing to al servo in your camera, it will keep the subjects some what in focus.
After you done all these and you went to take some pictures you will find out that it will be a bit harder for you to track birds or animals. and even harder to keep them in frame for this I present you the finder scope, the one that is used in guns and telescopes for pinpoint accuracy, if you use this gear it will make your work a lot easier and these things cost less than 20$
All you have to do it to purchase a hot shoe mount and a finder scope connect then together and mount it on top of the hot shoe mount of your camera. the take you camera and put it on a tripod, next step is calibrating it to the view finder. use the LCD of the camera to check if the calibration is correct and then you can go on and track your birds faster.
